#PowerPE Sweepstakes

Official Rules



 1.        Eligibility

            The #PowerPE Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry, and are registered users in the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program, and have a valid email address. (“Qualified Entrants”). Employees of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and National Foundation on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and any other companies associated with the promotion of the Sweepstakes, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The Sweepstakes is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


 2.        Sponsor and Administrator

            The Sweepstakes is sponsoredby National Fitness Foundation (“Sponsor”),

located at 1440 G Street NW, Washington, D.C. and administered by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (“Administrator”), located at 2525 SW 1st Ave., Suite 120, Portland, Oregon 97201.


 3.        Agreement to Official Rules

            Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and/or Administrator, which are absolute, final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.


 4.        Sweepstakes Period

            The Sweepstakes begins on May 1, 2018 at 8:00am Eastern Daylight Time (“EDT”). Deadline for the Sweepstakes is May 25, 2018 at 11:59:59 pm EDT (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Entries that are submitted before or after the Sweepstakes Period will be disqualified.


Qualified Entrants who complete Module 3 of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program Assessment, or update an already-completed Module 3, with a valid email address, and whose school meets the funding eligibility criteria listed below: during the Sweepstakes Period will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes.


Additional Eligibility Criteria:

  • Schools must employ a certified physical educator on a full or part-time basis.
  • Schools funded through the 2016, 2017, 2018 Presidential Youth Fitness Program grant opportunity, 2017 PowerPE campaign, or 2017 NFL Foundation-National Fitness Foundation Hometown Grant program or 2017 Fuel Up to Play 60 School Transformation Contest are not eligible.
  • Within 30 days of notification, a school representative must complete one or more of the training modules about the Presidential Youth Fitness Program listed here: http://schools.healthiergeneration.org/_service/alliance/cornerstone/?link=%252fDeepLink%252fProcessRedirect.aspx%253fmodule%253dlodetails%2526lo%253db5c54ad6-a994-4e16-8c59-4000eb5bebac
    • .  A new online training module must be completed if the school representative completed Module 1 prior to May 1, 2018. 
    • Schools that have already completed all four training modules prior to May 1, 2018 are automatically eligible.


 5.        How to Enter

            Entry to the Sweepstakes will be by completing Module 3 of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program website, or updating an already-completed Module 3. To do this, the user must first have a registered online account with the Healthy Schools Program, with a valid email address. Any registered user who completes or updates an already-completed Module 3 within the Sweepstakes Period, and whose school also meets all funding criteria listed on page 4, will be automatically entered into the Sweepstakes using their Healthy Schools Program user profile information. 

            Limit one (1) entry per person, for the duration of the Sweepstakes Period.


 6.        Sweepstakes Recipient Selection

            All entries will be received and recorded by the Administrator’s computer.  On or about May 30, 2018, the Administrator will use its computer to randomly selected ten (10) winners to receive the sweepstakes prize listed below, provided there are at least ten (10) qualified entries, and provided all funding criteria is met by the winner’s school (all selected winners will be reviewed and confirmed by the Sponsor).

The odds of being selected as a potential winner of this Sweepstakes depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winners via telephone or email on or about May 30, 2018. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Administrator may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from the remaining non-winning, eligible entries. Administrator's computer is the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes.


 7.        Prizes

The prizing for the Sweepstakes will be:


Ten (10) grants of $1,000 in physical education resources, maxmimum of one (1) grant rewarded to any given school.


For each of the ten (10) grants, a school representative can select from a pre-determined list of resources from the following categories (see Appendix A for specific items):

  • Supporting texts
  • Assessment equipment
  • Student recognition items

Total prizing per grant ARV $1,000.00

Total prizing overall ARV $10,000.00

Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason.


8.         General Conditions

            In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Sweepstakes is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the Sweepstakes is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Sweepstakes to address the impairment and then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules or (b) terminate the Sweepstakes and, in the event of termination, award the prizes at random from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages (including attorneys fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Except where legally prohibited, winners grant permission to Sponsor and those acting under its authority the right to the use of the winner’s name, picture, likeness, voice, biographical information and statementsat any time or times, for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval.



 9.        Release and Limitations of Liability

            By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, Administrator, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, other companies associated with the Sweepstakes, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of the prize, including, but not limited to: (a) any technical errors associated with the Sweepstakes, including lost, interrupted or unavailable Internet Service Provider (ISP), network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Sweepstakes; (c) mechanical, network, electronic, computer, human, printing or typographical errors; (d)application downloads, (e) any other errors or problems in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors that may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes, the announcement of the potential winner or winners, the cancellation or postponement of the event and/or the flyover, if applicable, the incorrect downloading of the application the processing of entries application downloadsor in any Sweepstakes-related materials; or (f) injury, death, losses or damages of any kind, to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrants participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, receipt or misuse of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto). Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Sweepstakes, and in no event shall the entrant be entitled to receive attorneys fees. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.

This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media forum. By participating, you hereby release and hold harmless Facebook and Twitter from any and all liability associated with the Sweepstakes. Information provided in connection with the Sweepstakes is being provided to the Administrator and not to Facebook or Twitter.



 10.      Disputes

            Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the District of Columbia. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrants rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the District of Columbia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the District of Columbia.


 11.      Privacy

 Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy located at  https://schools.healthiergeneration.org/help/privacy_policy/.


 12.      Official Rules and Winner List
